In a recent project for DOUBLE VISION we had a client contact us with interest in purchasing some of our prints for his office. The name of the office in question is the Coal Harbour Spa located in Vancouver. Rather than direct him to a link to our online store to make his selection I decided to meet with Dr. Paul Denton, owner and chief MD to find out what he was looking for.
The meeting turned out to be very beneficial for both parties; from his standpoint as customer wanting to know what to hang in his office and ourselves as creators to understanding what best suited his vision and office. Dr. Denton was able to explained his ideas and the direction he wanted to take with the decor. Once I grasped his vision I understood that he was looking not only for nice pieces to set the mood and style of his office but was looking to create an identity a brand that would set him apart from competitors.
Sending him to our online shop would not have been wise or suffice. So my brother and I hatched a plan that would give him a confident approach in collaborating with us on the look and mood he wanted his office to emote. We took photos of the office with the main consultation meeting room as the initial start to this endeavor. This was where clients were going to meet with Dr. Denton to consider or option serious medical, cosmetic procedures for their health or lifestyle and this room had to set the tone.
We sent Dr. Denton a variety of images based on his interest and information he provided. He wanted to see some grand urban landscape shots of Vancouver city with abstract black and whites but we found out that it didn’t work the room for the intended purpose. So to stay within his needs we compromised by still including Vancouver but more of a naturalistic setting. Vancouver has many notable scenic shots that incorporate both worlds and we discovered that was what worked best.
With photos of his office created from different angles we removed the old images and composited the shots that made his list. Then over period of almost 2 weeks Dr. Denton was able to correspond with us and his team and evaluate the best choices for the room and brand they were creating for their business. It was a much more personal and gratifying experience for us and the customer. Coal Harbour Spa was truly happy with the options and process we designed for them. We think this will continue to be the path we take with future projects of this nature.

Vancouver has been our photography playground throughout the years where we’ve taken some of our finest photos. In this video titled ‘CONVERGENCE’ we showcase the manner in which our land and cityscape photography with time-lapse visual effects converge to create beautiful imagery.
Over the last year we’ve been attracting interest from clients wanting to purchase our photographs. We held off on pursuing this new aspect of our business because we needed to invest a lot of time in research along with building an extension from our main website. We now offer our pictures for sale, they can be ordered online through our SmugMug Store. Customers can choose from metallic to canvas prints, postcards, digital downloads for stock photography for your home or office.
We invite you stop by and take a look at our new Double Vision Photography online shop. If you have any questions, are in the local area and would like to try the same service we provided for Coal Harbour Spa contact us to discuss the project in further detail.
