The final shot you see here was from the meeting room above the lobby. I was given a time where the staff prearranged to gather in the lobby for 5 – 10 mins for the group photograph to mark their 4 year anniversary. I arrived an hour before to set-up, measure light exposure and composition. The nice thing about this project was all the staff knew where to position themselves. I only had to make a few minor adjustments to position subjects in frame. From here I fired off numerous shots with flash to make sure I would be able to edit anyone with closed eyes and layer in ones with open eyes. I believe there were only 3 people who required this post edit process.
I also had the opportunity to photograph Mr. Stephane Mouttet for his candidacy of President for les Clefs d’Or Canada. Mr. Mouttet has been with Shangri-la Resorts since 2008 he delivers Asian hospitality and serenity to all Shangri-La guests and residents. He is well known and respected for his tremendous dedication and professionalism in the tourism industry and with clientele as Chef Concierge. If you ever happen to be in the area and need some great ideas or info on what to do or see in Vancouver stop in and see Stephane, he’ll make your day.
One last item I have to share is in regards to the lunch I was treated to from ‘MARKET by Jean-Georges’ Restaurant. I had the remarkable Market Burger with black truffle dressing and brie prepared by Chef Wayne Harris. This was absolutely mouth watering art and the taste; unforgettable, down to the last charbroiled bite. Trust me you won’t regret it, even if you’re on a diet, just order it. Treat yourself to an ice cold Mirror Pond to wash down any last remnants of joy and have that napkin handy, not to wipe your mouth as your tongue will gladly take care of that but to wipe away the tears, for when it’s over you’ll be crying for more.
Congratulations again to Shangri-La Vancouver on your 4 year anniversary and continued success.
